Abstract

Coastal environmental problems in Indonesia such as abrasion, erosion and tidal floods are something that has a negative impact on various sectors of life. To overcome natural disasters that continue to occur in coastal areas, a type of coastal protection building is needed that can block the impact of large waves and overcome tidal floods so that areas near the coast are safer. The research location at Laok Bindung Hamlet, Situbondo during February to April 2023. The aim of the research was to provide a choice of alternative types of coastal protection buildings that were suitable to be built in Laok Bindung Hamlet, Situbondo Regency. Meanwhile, the alternative selection uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. AHP is a method used to simplify complex unstructured, strategic and dynamic problems into parts and organize them in a hierarchy. The criteria used are the ability of the building to protect the coast from wave attacks (K1), the condition of the tidal range (K2), existing buildings (K3), the integration of alternatives with community activities (K4), aesthetics (K5), ease of implementation (K6 ), construction costs (K7), ease of maintenance (K8), building impact on the surrounding environment (K9), and availability of materials on site (K10). The results of the analysis of determining alternative types of coastal buildings using the expert choice 11 program showed that the Seawall alternative weighted of 0.268, Revetment weighted of 0.226, Sea Wall weighted of 0.205, Groin weighted of 0.184 and Breakwater weighted of 0.116 with a consistency value of 0.01.
