Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi motivasi petani dalam usahatani tebu di Desa Kedunglo, Kecamatan Asembagus, Kabupaten Situbondo. Motivasi petani dalam menjalankan usahatani dipengaruhi oleh dua kelompok utama, yaitu faktor internal (umur, pendidikan, luas lahan, dan pendapatan) dan faktor eksternal (lingkungan sosial, lingkungan ekonomi, dan kebijakan pemerintah). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, kuesioner, dan wawancara. Sampel ditentukan menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan responden sebanyak 33 petani tebu. Data dianalisis menggunakan korelasi Spearman Rank untuk menguji hubungan antara faktor-faktor tersebut dengan tiga jenis kebutuhan motivasi petani: fisiologis, sosiologis, dan psikologis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum faktor internal dan eksternal memiliki hubungan dan pengaruh yang bervariasi terhadap motivasi petani. Beberapa faktor seperti pendapatan dan lingkungan sosial menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan terhadap kebutuhan motivasi petani. Namun, kebijakan pemerintah cenderung masih dianggap kurang optimal dalam mendukung semangat petani. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan dukungan kebijakan dan pemberdayaan petani untuk meningkatkan produktivitas usahatani tebu secara berkelanjutan. Abstract This study aims to analyze the factors that influence farmers' motivation in sugarcane farming in Kedunglo Village, Asembagus Subdistrict, Situbondo Regency. Farmers' motivation in running a farming business is influenced by two main groups, namely internal factors (age, education, land area, and income) and external factors (social environment, economic environment, and government policies). This study used quantitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula with 33 sugarcane farmers as respondents. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank correlation to test the relationship between these factors and the three types of motivational needs of farmers: physiological, sociological, and psychological. The results showed that in general, internal and external factors had varying relationships and influences on farmers' motivation. Some factors such as income and social environment show a significant relationship with farmers' motivational needs. However, government policies tend to still be considered less than optimal in supporting farmers' spirit. This study recommends increasing policy support and empowering farmers to increase the productivity of sugarcane farming in a sustainable manner.
