Abstract
Foreign films are increasingly common in Indonesia, making translation crucial for audience comprehension. While modern machine translation tools like Auris AI can convert video to text, translation quality remains a key concern. This study assessed the quality of Auris AI's phrasal verb translations in "The Cartoon Scary Girl (2023)" using accuracy, acceptability, and readability as metrics. Employing Molina and Albir's translation techniques and Nababan's framework, the study analyzed phrasal verbs through Spradley's theory. Despite Auris AI's advertised 99% accuracy, the study found only medium translation quality, with an average score of 2.24 out of 3.00 (74.6%). This suggests that the company's high accuracy claims are primarily marketing. Individual scores for accuracy (75%), acceptability (75%), and readability (74.6%) revealed that the translations frequently missed intended meanings, lacked naturalness, and exhibited only moderate clarity.
