Abstract

Code-switching is an important element in sociolinguistic studies, especially in bilingual or multilingual societies like Indonesia, which has a rich diversity of languages and cultures. In the era of globalization, interactions between speakers from various linguistic backgrounds have increased, making code-switching more common. Code-switching does not only occur spontaneously but is often used as a deliberate communication strategy, where speakers switch languages according to the context and needs of the interaction, whether in family, friendship, or professional settings.
