Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not there is an effect of the STAD type cooperative learning model on students' math problem solving skills. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experiment research method. The population in this study were all fifthgrade students of SDN 2 Patokan, Situbondo Regency. The data collection techniques used were observation, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used data normality test, homogeneity test and t test. The t-test results show that the t-count value of 9.319 is greater than the t-table of 2.021, so Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. In conclusion, there is a positive effect of the STAD type cooperative model on the mathematical problem solving ability of fifth grade students at SDN 2 Patokan, with an average experimental class score of 63.33 compared to the control class of 54.29.
